NEWS & REMINDERS
Mandatory Flu Vaccinations Beginning October 8, 2018
We will offer free flu vaccine clinics to our employees, physicians, and volunteers as we have done every year, at various locations and times for your convenience. The flu clinic schedule and a detailed “Frequently Asked Questions” document will be placed on the SHIP Intranet or can be obtained from your manager. Those who receive the flu vaccine outside of Suburban Hospital will be required to provide documentation to Employee Health. The final flu clinic will be held on November 16, 2018. The deadline for vaccination and documentation is also November 16, 2018.

Reducing CAUTI
Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI) are one of the most common and costly, yet preventable, hospital-acquired infections in the U.S. Patient harm caused by CAUTI can be prevented by minimizing the unnecessary utilization of foley catheters.
At Suburban Hospital, we have an established foley catheter protocol that has been in Epic for the last few years. We have found that this process assists in removing foley catheters in a timely fashion. I encourage you to implement this process to take the best care of our patients. Please contact Eric Dobkin at 301-896-2149 or edobkin1@jhmi.edu for more information.
