Hanh-Tam Tran, MD
Hanh-Tam Tran M.D., is a breast surgeon with the Sullivan Breast Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital and a clinical associate at the School of Medicine. She completed her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center and her residency training at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Tran has expertise in surgery of the breast, including surgical oncology techniques such as nipple sparing mastectomies and remote incision lumpectomies. She has a special interest in patients with high risk for developing breast cancer, as well as surgical outcomes for young patients and elderly patients. Her current research is focused on identifying patients who could be spared axillary surgery.
Dr. Tran earned second place for Top Abstract at the Breast Cancer Coordinated Care (BC3) Conference, Washington D.C. in 2018; second place for cancer research at the American College of Surgeons, Maryland Chapter Meeting and has published several articles on breast cancer diagnosis and surgery.
